Car loan and Experian score of 790?
I’m new to the UK and should be starting work next month and my wife is working now. I need a car and have enough to purchase it outright but want to finance half in order to build credit. I have no pre-approvals from my bank and they told me that I could only get a loan from them if I owned a home but I don’t. From what I am finding out is that there is no financial institution in the UK that will give secured loans using a fixed deposit as collateral. Is this true? Also my Experian score is 790 is this good, bad, or indifferent? On their site it says the score is "fair". Does anyone have any advice on how I can get some financing to purchase a used car if I am paying for half of it and willing to secure the other half with a fixed deposit? Thanks in advance.
I haven’t checked with car dealers because I’m new to the UK system and have had no previous credit here and not employed until next month. I just found out my credit scoring and wanted to get some feed back. The better deals on used cars are through private sales and I would have to secure financing on my own for that. I used to live in the USA as well and their system is a lot easier than the UK’s trust me. Here they are very systematic. I find it ten times easier to build credit in the States. Will the 790 Experian score help me to secure dealer financing even though I’m not exactly "hired" at this particular moment?
Financed cars is more expensive to insurance cause it requires full coverage. You can compare how much you would pay for full coverage of this car using this tool – carinsurance.deep-ice.com
Do i go to australia?
I asked a similar question previously, but to get to right opinion on the matter, i feel like i need to elaborate on the situation….
I am 22, have a £5000 loan to pay off, at £120 a month. But dont have to pay any of it off for another 3 months. I have lots of friends currently on the west coast of australia, one of them being a potential girl friend…now, i know what you thinking.. ‘i’m going there for a girl’. In actual fact this is what i’ve been trying to figure out and make sure of… that im going out there for me and not her. She is british, but we figured our living situation in the UK would not allow the relationship to work. So that is another benefit to our relationship, being out there with her in australia. Basicly, in order to get a cheap flight, i really need to book now. and i need to make sure i find a job out there, just so i can afford to pay back the repayments every month. Also i am wondering how i would pay this money back into my british bank account… would this be complicated?
The other thing is that i dont know if i’m going to have this opportunity again, where i actually have money available to go and do this. I could sit here working trying to prepare and save up, which is (incredibly hard in britain at the moment) and not end up going till i’m 30, where everything changes… whats your scope?
To venture into the unknown for an indefinite period with a loan of that size at your age is a bit short sighted …
Far smarter to work your butt off to repay that debt & go with a clean slate !

WAKE UP == it’s not too late to contact the Credit Cards and Mortgage Company and sort something out.
Any more than a drug user needs another fix, a Pay Day loan is NOT a ’solution’ to debt problems …get a ‘pay day’ loan and the ‘very nice men’ in the sharp suits who come round to ‘collect’ the payment won’t be quite as understanding as your Bank, Credit Card Co. or Mortgage provider … (when they say that Interest will cost you ‘an arm’ and ‘a leg’ they are not kidding
